  • Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has appealed to the people to contribute wholeheartedly to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
  • He asked them to join the efforts of the government to ensure the welfare of brave women, ex-servicemen and their families.
  • On August 28, 1949, a committee constituted under the Defense Minister had decided to celebrate Flag Day every year on December 7.
  • This day is celebrated every year since December 7, 1949.
