·         World First Aid Day is observed every year on the second Saturday of September.

·         In 2021, this day is being celebrated on September 11, 2021. The day is an annual campaign aimed at promoting the importance of first aid training and increasing its reach to save more lives in distress.

·         When a person is suffering from minor or serious injury or illness, the primary and immediate aid given to the patient is called 'First Aid'.

About World First Aid Day: History

v  In 2000, World First Aid Day was established by IFRC and for more than 100 years, this organization has been providing first aid services to the people.

v  The history of this day dates back to 1859 when Henry Dunant, a young businessman, witnessed the massacre at the Battle of Solfrino.
