  • Jain Muni Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj passed away on February 18.
  • Born on 10 October 1946 at Sadalga in Belgaum district of Karnataka, the famous Jain saint passed away after performing 'Sallekhana', a Jain religious practice. 
  • Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj guided society in all these roles, as an Acharya, Yogi, Thinker, Philosopher and Social Worker. He was outwardly easygoing, simple and gentle, but inwardly hard as a thunderbolt. 
  • Through the work of education, health and welfare of the poor, he showed how the work of service to humanity and cultural awakening can be done simultaneously.
  • PM Modi and many veteran leaders mourned the death of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj.
