  • Veteran Malayalam actor and director E.A. Rajendran passed away at the age of 71 in Kollam due to age-related ailments. A native of Thrissur district, he trained at the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Rajendran appeared in around 60 Malayalam films, often in character and villainous roles, with notable works including ‘Greeshmam’, ‘Kaliyattam’, and ‘Daya’.
  • He also contributed to television serials and theatre as a director. Beyond arts, he served as Chairman of the State Horticulture Corporation. His mortal remains were kept for public homage before the funeral in Thrissur. He is survived by his wife Sandhya Rajendran.
