  • President Droupadi Murmu appointed Union Minister Kiren Rijiju to oversee the Ministry of Food Processing Industries after the resignation of Pashupati Kumar Paras.
  • Paras resigned after his party, the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), was not included in the Bihar seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
  • The President, as advised by the Prime Minister, accepted Paras' resignation and directed Rijiju to assume additional responsibilities in addition to his existing charge.
