  • Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the new campus of the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology at Phulia in Nadia district of West Bengal on 05 January 2025, which will cater to the educational needs of students from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Sikkim.
  • The number of seats for first year admission at IIHT Phulia has been increased from the existing 33 to 66. 
  • During the inaugural ceremony, the integrated website for all the 6 central IIHTs was launched.
