The use of two new Covid vaccines as well as an antiviral oral medicine has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization.
The names of these two covid vaccines are CORBEVAX and COVOVAX, and the antiviral drug is Molanupiravir. Molanupiravir is recommended to be taken only in case of emergency.
Corbevax Vaccine is an RBD protein subunit vaccine produced in India by Biological E, a Hyderabad-based company. COVOVAX Vaccine is manufactured by Serum Institute.
The total number of vaccines approved for emergency use has now risen to eight.
Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and ZyCoV-D are the only Vaccine that have received approval so far.
