The second Bharat Gaurav train in Southern Railway left Madurai with 170 passengers for Varanasi on a 12-day pilgrimage to several places, including seven Sakthi Peeth.
The Name of this train Bharat Gaurav Divya Kashi Aadi Amavasya Express.
The train with a capacity of 560 passengers had got an overwhelming response with 85% booking or 470 passengers travelling in four 3-tier AC coaches and six sleeper class coaches.
It would also go to Puri, Kolkata, Gaya, Prayagraj and Vijayawada.
It will be operated by Travel Times Private Limited, a private service provider for tourists.
India’s first themed Bharat Pride train was flagged off from Coimbatore North to Sainagar Shirdi on 14 June.
A week later, the Shri Ramayana Yatra was launched by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) from New Delhi on 21 June.
