Garimela Balakrishna Prasad, a renowned classical singer and scholar of TTD, passed away at the age of 76 in Tirupati; he played a pivotal role in popularizing Annamacharya kirtans.
He was honored with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, composed over 600 Annamayya kirtans, performed in more than 6,000 music concerts, and was the lead singer of the Laksha Ghalarchana program, which was included in the Guinness World Records.
