  • New Delhi: India has agreed to export 50,000 tonnes of non-basmati rice under an open tender agreement to control rising rice prices in Bangladesh, with the first consignment sent on December 26.
  • Under the agreement, the second consignment of 27,000 tonnes of rice will reach Chittagong port from Kakinada port tomorrow, the first major export to Bangladesh since the August 5 student uprising and the formation of an interim government.
