Bengaluru-based Sarala Aviation recently unveiled its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft prototype, 'Zero' at the India Expo 2025 in Delhi.
Sarla Aviation plans to launch its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles by 2028, aiming to become India’s first provider of urban air transportation.
The maximum speed of 'Shunya' is 250 km/h, with a range of up to 160 km, although it is optimized for trips between 20 to 30 km.
The aircraft is designed for rapid rotations, with a quick 20-minute charging time between back-to-back trips. It features four double-insulated battery packs that power seven electric motors.
