  • In January 2024, the Union Cabinet has approved the agreement between ISRO and Mauritius.
  • The Indian Space Research Organization had signed this agreement with the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council.
  • This agreement was made on November 1, 2023.
  • Under this agreement, ISRO will help Mauritius in the development of small satellites.
  • Apart from this, ISRO will get a base station in Port Louis, Mauritius to monitor its satellites.
  • Under this agreement, all the expenses of satellite launch will be borne by the Government of India.
  • Under the agreement, ISRO and Mauritius Research and Innovation Council will develop small satellites in the next 15 months.
