  • Abhra missile system is a system indigenously developed by India.
  • Recently the Abhra missile system has been deployed on I.N.S. Vikrant.
  • I.N.S. Vikrant is an aircraft carrier warship of the Indian Navy.
  • Abhra missile is a medium-range surface-to-air missile (MRSAM).
  • It is a joint venture between DRDO and Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI).
  • It is produced in Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
  • It is designed to destroy enemy aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones at a range of 70 km.
  • The speed of this missile is 2448 kilometers per hour.
  • Due to the high speed of the missile, the enemy is not able to trace it and the radio frequency seeker installed in it also helps in killing the enemy.
  • Even if the enemy vehicle is using radio to dodge, this missile will kill it.
