Recently the Government of Odisha has launched 'Ama Bank' for financial inclusion.
This bank scheme was launched by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Its objective is to provide banking services through Customer Service Points (CSP) plus banking outlets.
Under this, those 4,373 gram panchayats will be covered where banking services are not available.
Banking facilities in all these gram panchayats will be completed by March 2024.
These outlets will provide 15 banking services.
Through this, a system will be developed to provide doorstep services to the elderly, disabled persons and pregnant women.
The government will provide rent-free banking space for five years.
