The National Executive meeting of Janata Dal (United) was held in New Delhi in December, 2023.
In this meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been elected the national president of Janata Dal (United).
Nitish Kumar has replaced Lallan Singh on the post of national president.
Lallan Singh has resigned from his post during the executive meeting.
It was formed in 2003 by merging a faction of the Janata Dal, Lok Shakti Party and Samata Party.
It is a state level party in the states of Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
Sharad Yadav was the first president of JDU.
