NALSA stands for National Legal Services Authority.
Recently, Supreme Court Justice Sanjiv Khanna has been appointed the acting chairman of NALSA.
Sanjeev Khanna took over this post from S. K. Kaul.
S. K. Kaul retired on 25 December.
Sanjiv Khanna has been appointed by the President as the acting chairman of NALSA.
Presently the Chairman of NALSA is Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachur.
National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is a statutory body established under the Legal Services Authorities Act of 1987.
This body provides free legal aid to the weaker sections of the society.
