India has officially joined the Square Kilometer Array Observatory (SKAO) in January 2024.
The Square Kilometer Array Observatory (SKAO) is not just one telescope but consists of thousands of antennas.
SKAO is a new intergovernmental organization dedicated to radio astronomy.
Its headquarters is in Britain.
SKAO is the world's largest radio telescope.
It is located in Africa and Australia.
It will enable astronomers to investigate astronomical phenomena at extreme distances, advancing cosmic understanding.
Pune-based National Center for Radio Astrophysics will receive technical support through this.
