  • Various agreements have been signed between India and Nepal in 4 areas in January 2024.
  • These agreements are – Electricity Trade Agreement, Agreement in Renewable Energy, Space Cooperation Agreement, and Community Development Agreement.
  • This agreement between the two countries was signed by Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar Prasad's visit to Nepal.
  • India-Nepal Joint Commission meeting was held during S. Jaishankar Prasad's visit.
  • Under the power agreement, India will increase the purchase of hydropower from Nepal to 10,000 MW within the next 10 years.
  • India's NTPC Limited will help in the development of renewable energy in Nepal.
  • India will launch Nepal's 'Munal satellite' from PSLV.
  • India-Nepal Joint Commission was established in the year 1987.
