Dinesh K. Tripathi in January 2024 has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of the Navy.
The Deputy Chief of the Navy is called Vice Admiral.
Vice Admiral Tripathi has previously served as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.
He has also been the Director General of Naval Operations till May 2021.
Dinesh K. Tripathi has taken the place of Sanjay J. Singh.
Admiral R. Hari Kumar is the Chief of the Navy.
