Barenboim and Ali Abu Awwad have been awarded the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize in December 2023.
He has been given this award for the year 2023.
Daniel is an Argentinian-born classical pianist.
Ali Awwad is a Palestinian peace activist working tirelessly with the people of Palestine and Israel for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The award was announced by an international jury headed by former Chief Justice TS Thakur.
Indira Gandhi Peace Prize was established in the year 1986 AD.
This award is presented by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.
