'Mengxiang' is a state-of-the-art ocean drilling ship.
Recently this ship has been unveiled by China.
This drilling ship was tested in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province of South China.
Quanzhou city is located at the mouth of the Pearl River.
The weight of this ship is approximately 33 thousand tons.
Its total length is 180 meters.
The ship is equipped with world-leading marine scientific drilling capabilities.
Once construction is complete, the ship will provide critical equipment for the exploration and mining of natural gas hydrates for industrialization.
This will further enhance China's potential for energy independence.
The construction of this ship started in November 2021.
In Chinese, 'Mengxiang' means 'dream'.
