The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the caste-based survey in the state in November, 2023.
Chief Minister Y.S. The state cabinet chaired by Jagan Mohan Reddy approved the comprehensive caste-based survey.
The objective of this survey is to collect primary information on economic, social, educational, livelihood and population data with special focus on marginalized sections.
The survey will help in creating a database of weaker sections in the society, so that the government can expand its welfare schemes and other economic benefits.
Bihar is the first state in the country to conduct caste census in the state.
