5 new countries have joined the BRICS organization in January 2024.
The names of these countries are Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
Now there are 10 member countries in this organization.
These countries were inducted into the organization in the 15th BRICS summit held in Johannesburg in the year 2023.
Argentina was also included in this organization but has refused to join.
Russia is the chair of BRICS from January 1 to December 31, 2024.
