According to the announcement of November 1, 2023, Rajaji Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation will be established in Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand government has approved the formation of this foundation.
Rajaji Conservation Foundation will be formed on the lines of Corbett Tiger Foundation.
The main objective of Rajaji Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation is to provide support for the protection of the natural environment in and around Rajaji Tiger Reserve.
The Foundation will also assist local communities in reducing their dependence on forests, leverage ecotourism and provide alternative livelihood opportunities to combat human-wildlife conflict and related crimes.
Rajaji National Park was established in the year 1983.
It was declared a tiger reserve in the year 2015.
It is located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
