The foundation stone for the Ganga Expressway of Uttar Pradesh has been laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The expressway will be 594 kilometres long, with six lanes, and will cost more than Rs 36,200 crore to build.
This expressway will run from Meerut's Bijauli village to Prayagraj's Jodapur Dandu village.
It will run through the state districts of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.
On this expressway, a 3.5-kilometer-long airstrip will be built in Shahjahanpur to aid Air Force aircraft in emergency takeoff and landing.
This expressway will connect Uttar Pradesh's western and eastern areas, becoming the state's longest expressway.
