The Press Registrar General of India (PRGI), Yogesh Baweja, has launched the ‘Press Sewa’ portal, a single-window digital platform aimed at simplifying registration for newspapers and periodicals under the new Registration of Periodicals Act (PRP Act). The initiative is designed to improve transparency, reduce approval delays, and enhance ease of business for publishers. At a PIB Hyderabad session, Shruti Patil, Additional DG, announced plans for a dedicated publisher helpline, highlighting this as the first interactive session of its kind in Telangana.
