Driving for McLaren, he faced relentless pressure from teammate Lando Norris, who unfortunately retired just seven laps from the end due to mechanical failure. Home favourite Max Verstappen of Red Bull finished second, delighting the Dutch fans, while rookie Isack Hadjar delivered a breakthrough performance by claiming his maiden Formula 1 podium with third place for Racing Bulls.
