The Odisha government has given approval for setting up the world's first melanistic tiger safari.
The project aims to showcase melanistic tigers safely.
An area of 200 hectares adjacent to NH-18 has been earmarked for the project.
It has 100 hectares dedicated to the demonstration area, and the remaining space has been allocated for veterinary care, rescue centers, staff infrastructure, and other facilities.
The melanistic tigers found in Similipal Tiger Reserve are the only ones in this reserve worldwide.
The landscape of this reserve is reflective and it is famous as the only natural habitat.
The Odisha government has decided to inaugurate the Melanistic Tiger Safari and an area of 200 hectares on NH-18 has been selected for its inauguration support.
