The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased toll rates by an average of four to five percent on highway stretches across the country.
Revised toll rates for drivers on national highways have come into effect from April 1, 2025.
There are approximately 855 user fee plazas on the national highway network where charges are levied according to the National Highways (Rate of Fees and Collection) Rules, 2008.
Of these, around 675 are publicly funded fee plazas and 180 are toll plazas operated by highway developing companies.
