  • The Indian Navy has received the indigenous 'Vagsheer' submarine, which will be commissioned into the sea fleet on 15 January 2025.
  • This submarine has been built under the 'Make in India' initiative of the Government of India. It is equipped with heavy sensors and weapons for all kinds of deadly attacks.
  • INS Vagsheer has a speed of 20 kmph on the sea surface and is interoperable, allowing it to operate in all operation theatres.
  • INS Vagsheer is capable of evading enemy radars, gathering intelligence and carrying out precision strikes with 18 torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.
