On January 24, the nation celebrates National Girl Child Day.
National Girl Child Day aims to work towards eliminating the barriers faced by women and girls when it comes to education, health, work and other aspects of life.
National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year in order to raise awareness about the gender inequality faced by girls in India.
Ministry of Women and Child Development introduced National Girl Child Day in 2008.
The Indian government has not officially announced a theme for National Girl Child Day 2023.
It is said that the celebration this year will be around the slogan, "Digital Generation, Our Generation, Our Time is Now—Our Rights, Our Future."
