Every year on December 14th, India commemorates National Energy Conservation Day to promote energy conservation.
The day is also referred to as Energy Efficiency Day.
The Energy Conservation Act was enacted in 2001 by India's Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which organises the annual National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.
This year's theme is 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India' and 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Cleaner Planet.'
