  • The theme for National Doctor's Day 2023 is "Celebrating Resilience and Healing Hands".
  • It aims to recognize and appreciate the tireless efforts of medical professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The day is celebrated in the memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.
  • Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was born on 1st July 1882 and died on the same day in 1962.
  • He was a well-known doctor, educator, freedom fighter, and politician. He treated many individuals, saved their lives, and became an inspiration for many. 
  • Dr B.C. Roy was awarded the "Bharat Ratna" for his works and achievements.
