Mizoram’s Social Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii expressed concern over the surge in violence against women, with reported cases rising from 3,094 in 2022–23 to 12,750 by early 2025. Launching the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Solve Project in Aizawl, she emphasized women’s empowerment as vital for social progress. The project, a collaboration between Aparajita, J-PAL South Asia, and Mission Foundation Movement (MFM), focuses on gender equality education, skill training, and livelihood support. It aims to build safer communities and promote gender justice across Mizoram.
