  • Lieutenant General Raj Shukla is a retired General Officer of the Indian Army who served as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command.
  • He has served in the military for over four decades.
  • The commission has a strength of 10 members aside from a chairman. The chairman and other UPSC members are appointed by the President of India. 
  • They hold office for a term of six years from the date of joining or until reaching the age of 65.
