Karnataka Grameena Bank received the National Award for Outstanding Performance in Self-Help Group (SHG) Bank Linkage for 2024–25 from the Union Ministry of Rural Development. The award was presented by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the National Conference on Financial Literacy and Capacity Building in Hyderabad.

Key Contribution:

  • Extended credit of ₹2,835 crore to over 80,904 SHGs.
  • Focus on women-led groups for income generation, entrepreneurship, and financial independence in rural areas.

Alignment: Supports Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) for poverty alleviation through community institutions. The bank’s performance improved after the ‘One State – One Rural Bank’ consolidation of RRBs in Karnataka.
