Category : Business and economics Published on: September 06 2025
Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh launched the Kapas Kisan app to make cotton procurement more transparent and efficient under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. Developed by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), the app allows farmers to self-register, book time slots for selling cotton, and track their payments digitally. The app comes with multiple farmer-friendly features such as multilingual support, real-time payment tracking, digital slot booking and reduced paperwork. It also ensures that farmers get procurement at MSP, protecting them from distress sales and market volatility. By digitizing processes, it aims to cut waiting times and congestion at procurement centers.
