  • The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Pankaj Mittal, the current Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, to the Rajasthan High Court.
  • The Rajasthan CJ post has been vacant since the retirement of Justice S S Shinde on August 1 this year. Justice M M Shrivastava has been functioning as the acting chief justice.
  •  Justice Pankaj Mithal is originally from Allahabad HC. He was appointed as an additional judge in the Allahabad HC from the bar on July 7, 2006.
  • Now he will be the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court till 16 June 2023.
