The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Pankaj Mittal, the current Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, to the Rajasthan High Court.
The Rajasthan CJ post has been vacant since the retirement of Justice S S Shinde on August 1 this year. Justice M M Shrivastava has been functioning as the acting chief justice.
Justice Pankaj Mithal is originally from Allahabad HC. He was appointed as an additional judge in the Allahabad HC from the bar on July 7, 2006.
Now he will be the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court till 16 June 2023.
