In Jharkhand, HUL DIWAS is celebrated annually on June 30 to honor tribal leaders Sidhu-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and Phoolo-Jhano, who led the Hul Rebellion of 1855 against British rule. The day commemorates their sacrifice and contributions to India's independence movement.
During the celebrations, Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Champai Soren, and other dignitaries paid homage to the tribal freedom fighters at Bhognadih in Sahibganj, where the main function was held.
The occasion included the inauguration of developmental schemes worth over ₹300 crore, underscoring the state's commitment to honoring and promoting the legacy of these brave heroes.
