Shigeru Ishiba, leader of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, has been officially elected as the country's Prime Minister after winning majority in both houses of parliament.
Ishiba is the 102nd prime minister of the country and has already appointed the next finance minister.
Shigeru replaces the country's outgoing Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who resigned from his post amid growing criticism over the ruling party's slush fund scandal and a drop in public approval ratings.
