  • Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer will host the country’s first Jain Chadar Mahotsav from 6 to 8 March 2026, centred on the worship of the 872-year-old garments of Dada Shri Jindatt Suri Maharaj, preserved in the temple’s Gyan Bhandar library. The relics, including the Chadar, Cholpatta, and Muhpatti, have historical significance dating back to Vikram Samvat 1211 and have been preserved in Jaisalmer for over 145 years.
  • The three-day festival will feature a Varghoda procession with elephants, horses, palanquins, tableaux, and monks, along with rituals, a theatrical presentation on Dada Gurudev’s life, and ceremonial conferrals of Acharya and Ganini positions. Senior Jain saints, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal are expected to attend.
