  • International Union Forum has started in Bihar in December, 2023.
  • It is being organized in Gaya, Bihar.
  • This is the first edition of the International Union Forum.
  • This forum was inaugurated by Tibetan Buddhism guru Dalai Lama.
  • Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu was also present in the program. More than 2,000 Buddhist scholars from 33 countries are participating in it, including India, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, Vietnam, Taiwan, Russia, Mongolia, Japan and Korea.
  • The goal of this forum is to promote dialogue on complex aspects of the Vinaya rules and to explore the evolving role of Buddhism in the 21st century.
  • In this the deep teachings of Buddhism will be discussed.
  • On the last day of the conference, there will be a prayer meeting for world peace at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya.
