On 23 September 2025, International Sign Language Day 2025 was celebrated at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, organized by the Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This year’s theme was “No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights,” highlighting the role of sign language in ensuring equality, inclusion, and dignity. The initiatives aim to strengthen accessibility, inclusivity, and opportunities for the deaf community across India.
