        International Literacy Day is celebrated globally on 8 September every year.

        The day spreads awareness about the importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies and the need for intensive efforts for more literate societies.

        The theme of the 55th International Literacy Day is “Literacy for Human-Centered Recovery: Bridging the Digital Divide”.
