Every year on November 16th, the International Day of Tolerance is commemorated and observed in order to promote mutual understanding among cultures and people.
The United Nations (UN) celebrated the 125th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth in 1995, as well as the UN's Year of Tolerance. UNESCO established a prize for this purpose, which is awarded every two years on November 16th, International Day of Tolerance.
International Day for Tolerance understands that we live in a beautifully diverse world that consists of mixed communities and we should treasure this diversity.
