International Day of Education is observed every year on January 24 to celebrate the role of education for peace and development.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the day as International Day of Education on January 24, 2018.
The Fourth International Day of World Education is being celebrated this year with the theme "Changing Curriculum, Changing Education".
The celebration is led by the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
