Recently the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize was announced for the year 2023.
This award has been jointly presented to the Indian Medical Association and Trained Nurses Association of India.
Both these organizations have been given this award as representatives of Covid warriors.
The award was presented by former Vice President M Hamid Ansari.
This award is given to every doctor, nurse, paramedic and worker for their selfless service, unwavering dedication and perseverance in the face of adversity.
This award was started in the year 1986.
This award carries a sum of Rs 25 lakh along with a citation.
Indian Medical Association was established in the year 1928.
Trained Nurses Association of India was established in the year 1908.
