  • Indian women wrestlers have achieved a remarkable feat by winning a total of seven medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 9 to 14 April 2013.
  • Out of these, two medals were silver and five were bronze. This achievement has led to India securing the third position in the Women’s Teams Ranking.
  • Antim Panghal and Nisha Dahiya were the two Indian wrestlers who won silver medals in their respective weight categories of 53-kg and 68-kg. 
  • Anshu Malik, Sonam Malik, Manisha, and Reetika were the other Indian wrestlers who claimed bronze medals at the event.
  • In the previous edition of the championships, India had won five medals and finished in fourth place.
