  • The Indian Navy is building an underground submarine bunker.
  • The name of this underground submarine bunker is 'I.N.S. 'Varsha’.
  • This bunker is being constructed in Andhra Pradesh.
  • It will be operated by the Eastern Naval Command whose headquarters is in Visakhapatnam.
  • This bunker/base is being built in Rambili, Visakhapatnam.
  • India's nuclear submarines will be stationed here.
  • The special thing is that no one will be able to see the nuclear submarine kept at this base because it is being described as an underground base.
  • 'I.N.S. 'Varsha' is being built under Project Varsha.
  • This will be Naval Alternative Operation Base (NAOB).
  • 8 to 12 nuclear-powered ballistic submarines and assault submarines will be kept inside these tunnels.
  • The NAOB will have underwater tunnels, inside which submarines will be placed.
