M.V. Leela Norfolk is a merchant ship.
Recently this species was hijacked off the coast of Somalia in the Arabian Sea.
The ship was hijacked by Houthi rebels.
This ship was going from Brazil to Bahrain.
There were 15 Indians in this ship.
After the ship was hijacked, the Indian Navy launched stealth missile-guided destroyer INS Chennai, for the campaign.
INS Chennai rescued all the Indians and crew members by MARCOS commandos.
The ship was monitored by P-8I maritime patrol aircraft and Predator MQ9B UAVs before reaching Marcos.
MARCOS Commando was formed in the year 1987.
The Indian Navy has deployed 5 of its warships to deal with the rebels in the Arabian Sea.
